07 Jul SHOTWELL in ‘CAPTAIN FANTASTIC’
Currently at Sundance Film Festival.
When Charlie Shotwell worked with me on the first audition for the role of Nai I knew something special was happening. He really gravitated to the extremely dark material. A few callbacks later, Charlie was still able to make each moment appear as if it was genuinely happening in his life. And it’s officially shooting now, so I can announce that Charlie, who is repped by Coast to Coast and Concrete Management will be playing ‘Nai’ opposite Viggo Mortensen in the indie drama Captain Fantastic for Electric City Entertainment and director Matt Ross (28 Hotel Rooms). Working on the entire script with him to prepare for the role has been delightful. He brings a consistently engaged and thought provoking performance to every word. In Captain Fantastic, Mortensen portrays a father, who has lived off the grid in the Pacific Northwest forest with his six young children for the past decade. He must now return to acclimate his children to modern society. It also stars Missy Pyle and Steve Zahn.
